I remember the feeling of excitement, freedom, and possibility in my whole body and being when my dad let go of the bicycle and I pedaled, steered and balanced myself on my own for the first time.
Although I have produced many different types of printed materials, published three books with a publishing company, only when I started to design the first book from cover to contents and learning about the self-publishing process, I felt the same exhilaration I experienced on my first bicycle ride.
It was such a daunting task to deal with layouts, margins, dpis and actually be responsible for printing a book. I knew, that the first time would take a lot of effort and learning. Once I started, the mountain didn't seem so big anymore, and I enjoyed pedaling upwards.
People dear to me support me by standing behind me, holding my hand, sending positive thoughts, and my boyfriend helped pumping up the tires. I was also fueled by gratefulness for living in an age, where we, women and men alike, can communicate freely and publish our messages.
The nicest thing is that my friends and I can go on a bike ride together. Throughout my life I noticed that some of my dear and talented friends have wonderful books in them, which I wanted to read! I promised them to share my process and assist them in their own, once I self-published my first book.
Now the time has come and Sundream Publishing currently has several amazing book projects in the cue! Stay tuned!
